Manifesting the lack of individuality in societal beauty standards, this series explores repression of self-identity through conformity and faux vulnerability. The pieces "embody" the ambiguity with which contemporary society interacts with intimacy.

These paintings were provoked after repeatedly absorbing an unsettling narrative through various media stories-- death at the hand of a lover. Particularly influenced by tales of beheadings and restraint, the series represents the entwined nature of care and animus.

These pieces began as a series of small drawings created while I was moving to Berlin and living out of a suitcase. I began to notice compositions in the folded and strewn underwear of my partner and I, seeing them as portraits. As I set up my studio, I maintained an interest in the concept and began posing undergarments as models, placing them together in ways that spoke to the lives of their wearers.

These two pieces are based on a dream about a man who needed to experience three scents before he could die. Wanting to pass on, he desperately searched for the third and most elusive scent after quickly finding the first two. He spent eternity searching.
Created in a particularly transitory season of my life, this series represents metanoia and the act of processing (and succumbing to) change.
